Plans for Character Counts Week - October 13-20!

Monterrey Elementary School

Each day beginning Friday, October 13th, we will emphasize one of the six pillars by wearing the color of that pillar, writing about a child or other person who exhibits that characteristic on special forms to be provided, pinning those to the appropriate pillar on the hall bulletin board, and concentrating on that characteristic!

Friday, Oct. 13 - Respect - wear yellow!

Monday, Oct. 16 - Responsibility - Wear green! - Tim Clark on KBIM TV!

Tuesday, Oct. 17 - Fairness - wear orange! - Lee Beamer on KBIM TV!

Wednesday, Oct. 18 - Caring - wear red - Jessica Bennett on KBIM TV!

Write letters of appreciation to people who have been "caring" to us. Sierra Middle School will be here to sell Character Counts ribbons for 25 cents at noon recess.

Caryn Doyal on KBIM TV! SHOW good citizenship by picking up litter, helping a neighbor, etc. Mrs. Reyes, our Teacher of the Year, will speak to classes about how she became a naturalized US citizen, and what it means to her.

Friday, Oct. 20 - Trustworthiness - wear blue - Monterrey T-shirt Day! - Stephanie Doyal on KBIM TV! ALL students and staff will participate in walking time from 10:10-10:20, making a "chain of Character" around our walking area.  Media will be invited.
