This West Texas artist hails from Lubbock, TX. Born in Crockett, TX, Mr. Thomasson has created an avid following of individuals and institutions in his pursuit of the arts. He is best known for his mural works and re-facing of historical sites. A few well-known projects are as follows: The Red Raider Land for Texas Tech University, Texas Tech Museum, The Palladium, Norman Brinker's "Chili's Restaurant" and "Brinker's", "Crawdad's", and a plethora of private pieces and murals done for notable families throughout the Southwest.
The John Russell Thomasson Collection was conceived by several individuals and created on canvas by John Russell Thomasson. It includes to date The Roswell Incident - 1947 (the first Alien telecard), Sky of Balloons - 1996, Albuquerque, NM, and the Lubbock, TX montage.
