This site is a cooperative effort of the Historic Preservation Committee
of the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico, the Convention and Visitors Bureau,
and several dedicated individuals.
The text was adapted by Georgellen Burnett, MA, from Treasures of
History: Historic Buildings in Chaves County, 1870-1935. Artwork is by Jill Marcelli
Designs, P.O. Box 8345, Roswell, New Mexico 88202-8345, except 100 S. Missouri by Larry
Bridges and NMMI by Wayne Whiting. Ms. Marcelli’s work is available for sale at The
Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico.
